Bill Belichick Responds to Viral Taylor Swift Sweatshirt Photo

Former New England Patriots head coach and general manager Bill Belichick isn’t a stranger to making headlines. The 72-year-old gridiron guru was back under the spotlight on Sunday.

A photo surfaced of Belichick wearing a Taylor Swift sweatshirt alongside 24-year-old girlfriend Jordan Hudson. Belichick, who often wears hoodies with cut-off sleeves, isn’t exactly known for wearing the trendiest clothes. That’s why the internet couldn’t help but speculate why he was wearing Swift-related merchandise.

Did Hudson force him to wear the sweatshirt? Or did taking in one of Swift’s concerts earlier this year cause him to become a major superfan?

On Monday, Belichick addressed the viral photo on the latest edition of ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.” “You’re on “The Manningcast” tonight, that means Taylor Swift is going to the game,” Pat McAfee said to Belichick. “What does that mean for the Kansas City Chiefs?”

“I don’t have any idea about that,” the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach responded. “I have on a Washington sweatshirt right now left over from the Huskie weekend.”

Even though Belichick played coy for the most part, it wouldn’t be shocking if he revealed himself as a massive Swiftie. Last August, the ex-Patriots HC told CBS News that Swift was “impressive” at one of her Gillette Stadium concerts and that she was “tough” for playing through a rain storm.

Interestingly enough, when asked if he was a Swiftie, Belichick revealed that he was unsure about the label, asking if it meant “like you have a sweatshirt or something?”

Fast forward a year later and Belichick finally owns that hypothetical sweatshirt, officially making him a Swiftie by that logic.

All eyes will be on the former NFL bench boss during tonight’s Manningcast to see if he hints more toward his budding fandom. Swift will be in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium when her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints.
