The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Indiana Fever 99-88, Caitlin Clark’s first WNBA loss since the All-Star break, although the 22-year-old’s boyfriend did his best to cheer her up at the Gainbridge FieldHouse. The Fever stunned the home crowd by winning the first quarter 27-19, but after a disastrous third quarter in which the home team gave up 17 points to the visitors, they were gradually pulled back until the game turned on its head.
And when their heads began to sink, Connor McCafferey felt he was the Fever’s key to WNBA glory in 2024, so he tried to lift Clark’s spirits with a tender hug courtside as she cowered in his arms. The couple’s sweet moment was quickly captured by one keen-eyed courtside photographer, Bri Lewerke, along with a number of others, like Clark making a flawless shot at the crowded arena, which the rookie phenom selected as her personal highlight.
“@connor_m30 “Float gameeeeee,” Clark said on Instagram in response to the sports photographer’s montage of portraits. McCafferey then responded with a heart emoji on X.com, a defunct Twitter platform. Though McCafferey is a caring lover, he is also an assistant coach with the Fever, having played collegiate basketball for the Hawkeyes before missing out on the NBA.
It appears that they have been practicing Clark’s float shots together, and their strategies are obviously effective because they are starting to see results for them on the court. Following the Lynx game on September 7, Clark played the Atlanta Dream, and on September 8 he once again looked impressive in a 104-100 overtime victory with 26 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds.
WNBA rookie standout Caitlin Clark is speaking up about her decision to like Taylor Swift’s Instagram post,. “I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just encourage people to register to vote,” Clark, 22, said to reporters during her media availability on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The Indiana Fever rookie added, “That’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have, and that’s the same thing Taylor [Swift] did.” “Continue to educate yourself on the candidates that we have,” she said, “The policies that they’re supporting — I think that’s the biggest thing you can do. And that’s what I would recommend to every single person that has the opportunity [to vote] in our country.”
