Jason describes their current relationship as “more connected than we’ve ever been,” a stark contrast to their pre-podcast days of “like once in a month” catch-ups, per TODAY.com. Launched in Sep. 2022 and named after their Cleveland Heights, Ohio, hometown, New Heights has become a “forced” therapy session for the Kelces.

While the podcast is successful among fans, Jason emphasizes how “it’s enabled [us] to stay closer.” Pre-podcast, the Kelce brothers rarely caught up during the busy NFL season.

Now, they get two hours of dedicated bro-time each week. “We take one day a week and talk for two hours,” Jason says. “We aim to be as open and authentic after our initial issues.”

Remember the 2023 Super Bowl, where the Kelces became the first siblings to face off on the big stage? Jason, despite playing for the (opposing) Eagles, sported Chiefs colors to support Travis (while his wife Kylie Kelce wore Eagles camo). The New Heights podcast may not have fundamentally changed the Kelce bond, but it strengthened it.

From eleven years of near-radio silence to guaranteed weekly conversations, the podcast has become the cornerstone of their bro-bond, ensuring these NFL stars remain close both on and off-field.

Forget the eleven-year media myth! Ex-Philadelphia center Jason Kelce clarifies the truth about his relationship rumors with Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.

While drafted in 2011, Jason, the elder by two years, became a five-time All-Pro center for the Eagles. Meanwhile, Travis carved his path as one of the greatest tight ends ever, racking up seven straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons. However, their bond wasn’t always this strong.

The Kelce brothers were quite competitive as kids; basketball, wrestling, and even lacrosse turned their living room into a warzone.

Their mom, Donna Kelce, jokingly referred to it as “enjoyable chaos” on a recent podcast. One story involved Travis throwing Jason so hard the stove flew off its hinges!

Likewise, their competitiveness continued on the field at the University of Cincinnati. Jason switched from running back to offensive line. Travis, initially a QB, later became a tight end due to his size and athleticism. However, a 2010 marijuana suspension almost ended Travis’ career.

Later, Jason took him in, trained him one-on-one, and lobbied coaches for his reinstatement. This period, Jason reveals, is what slowed their communication for those “eleven years.“

The Kelce brothers’ podcast is a way to reconnect, reminisce, and show the world ‘the Kelce bond’ that’s always been there, even when words failed them.
