Taylor Swift was rewarded to a fireworks display in the form of a Juan Soto solo shot after spending a chilly evening in The Bronx seeing the New York Yankees in the postseason. Swift was pictured entering the Yankee Stadium hospitality suites alongside boyfriend Travis Kelce for the opening game of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday evening.
The game started to heat when Soto smashed a home ball over the right-centerfield wall to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning as the temps dropped into the middle of the forty-years. As he approached first base celebrating giving the home supporters something to be excited about, Soto pointed sky.
Swift joined in the celebrations, looking shocked as the ball flew off the field and turned to see her guy savoring the moment. Later that inning, the Yankees expanded their lead with two runs on wild pitches from Guardians hurler Joey Cantillo. With Aaron Judge striking a sacrifice fly to bring in a run and Giancarlo Stanton tacking on a monster solo homer of his own to win Game 1 over Cleveland 5-2, Yankees fans returned home delighted that evening.
It comes as Jason, Kelce’s brother, was on ESPN covering the NFL’s Monday Night Football game between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills right over the Hudson River in New Jersey. Having seen the men’s US Open final with friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes on September 8, the couple has visited two athletic events in the Big Apple recently.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone hinted earlier on Monday about two extremely unique visitors scheduled for the ALCS opening game. At her beau’s NFL games, the pop sensation is often seen in the stands; but, on Monday night she and the three-time Super Bowl winner traded the football field for the diamond. Over his team’s bye week, the Kansas City Chiefs player has been spending some time with the songwriter.
Until Sunday when they square the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch, the current champions won’t be back on the field. Before she travels one more for her Eras Tour on Friday, Kelce has made sure he absorbs every second he can spare with his fiancée. Arriving in New York with the signer’s BFF Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for a double date, the celebrity lovebirds savored a romantic weekend.
Friday night’s arrival of the A-list four-some at hotspot The Corner Store in New York City’s Soho area revealed. Though Kelce received most of the criticism for his handlebar mustache and floppy hair, other fans flamed the four stars for their attire. Kelce was then mercilessly teased on social media as supporters contrasted his appearance with Ron Burgundy from Anchorman.
Others thought his mustache resembled those from the 1970s and 1980s adult film stars, and others remarked he looked like another Will Ferrell character — Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights. Following up the night on the town, Kelce and Swift spent some alone time on a Saturday date night.
Arriving at Torrisi restaurant, also in New York City, the “Fortnight” singer was seen clutching hands with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Their streak of date evenings in New York City also follows two weeks after they weathered the claimed split date from a leaked ‘contract’ many weeks ago. Though Kelce’s camp said the pair were set to announce their split on September 28, the contract is generally thought to be fraudulent and Kelce’s team were quick to brand it ‘completely false and contrived’.
The claimed contract’s specified breakup date has now passed without any hoopla or news coverage of a split. Swift had been seen at some of Kelce’s games since then, demonstrating that their romance is still strong despite split rumors. Last month at the US Open men’s final in Flushing Meadows, the couple also presented a PDA-packed show.
Swift and Kelce couldn’t keep their hands off one other with the popstar even serenading her admirer with a rendition of Darkness’s, ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love.’ Tonight, though, Swift and Kelce seem to be trading Queens for the Bronx in order to savor more of the athletic scene New York has to offer. The Yankees progressed to the American League Championship Series for the second time in three seasons and for the fourth time since 2017 after missing the postseason a year ago.
