Paul McCombsWhen it comes to his hair, Donna Kelce is letting Travis Kelce do what he wants.
The 35-year-old tight end created a stir in September when the NFL’s autumn 2024 season officially got underway. He had switched from his buzz cut to a scruffy crew cut with extremely faded sides.
In order to sport a clean-shaven face and a striking handlebar mustache, he even chopped off his unruly beard.
“I like it. He’s always had very, very, very short hair. It’s just different, that’s all,” Donna, 72, told PEOPLE at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards in N.Y.C. on Oct. 9.
The mother of two recently had the opportunity to see her athlete son on October 5, as he celebrated his 35th birthday during his yearly Kelce Car Jam event. Along with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Ed Kelce, Jason Kelce, and his wife Kylie were also present at the celebration.
“It was fun to see all the people,” she said. “We got to take in a comedian afterwards. It was really a blast. We had a fun weekend, everybody was all in one place.”
Along with Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, and Billie Eilish’s mothers, Tina Knowles, Mandy Teefey, and Maggie Baird, Donna was chosen one of Glamour’s honorees.
She discussed her experience as a mother in an interview with the magazine, referring to it as the “hardest thing” she had ever done.
“It’s so much easier to just go to work, but raising children, when they’re totally dependent on you and you’re trying to do the best you can with the limited resources that you have, it’s the most daunting task I’ve ever had to do,” she said.
