The two both became household names following their first meeting, and have only grown in popularity since. While there may be some growing pains in terms of how quickly they adapt to the WNBA style of play, they have still managed to make an impact for their new teams.

For Reese specifically, she has been an offensive rebounding machine and is essentially averaging a double-double on the year at 11.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Something that may be surprising to fans considering there is always an expectation for early struggles in a career, but that’s not exactly the case for Reese who recently explained exactly why she felt she was prepared for the moment.

When discussing her transition to the WNBA, she revealed that she thinks it has been going “great” citing her experience playing at LSU as a major reason why.

“I think my transition has been great,” said Reese. “It hasn’t been a super big huge surprise because Kim Mulkey kind of prepared me for this moment.”

“At LSU our practice was like four hours. We were ready, we were working. I thought [WNBA] training camp was going to be harder. So I think I was really prepared. I didn’t have any like WNBA surprises yet.” Reese and the Chicago Sky (4-6) will take the floor on Wednesday evening against the best team in the league, the Connecticut Sun (10-1).
