Travis Kelce has heard songs from Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which she recently announced. “I’ve heard some of it, certainly. “And it is unbelievable,” Travis, 34, told reporters during a news conference on Monday, February 5. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.” Travis, on the other hand, has remained tight-lipped regarding Taylor’s next album, stating that he “can neither confirm nor deny” his favorite tune and would leave the disclosure of more material “up to her.”
Travis faced concerns following Taylor Swift’s stunning revelation of a new 17-track album when accepting the 2024 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album on Sunday, February 4. “I want to say thank you to members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans,” Taylor said in her remarks during the awards ceremony. “So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.”
Taylor rushed to Instagram right after her win to showcase the cover art for The Tortured Poets Department, as well as a snapshot of what looked to be handwritten lyrics.
Taylor published the tracklist the next day, with song names ranging from “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” “loml,” to “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” Many fans assumed that, given the album’s release date, which Taylor stated was two years in the works, the tunes will likely recount the ups and downs of her six-year romance with actor Joe Alwyn. So, while fans are looking forward to hearing the love songs about her relationship with Travis, it appears they will have to wait a little longer.
Taylor and Joe began dating in 2016 and called it quits in April 2023, although they kept their relationship mostly private. Despite it being Taylor’s longest relationship to date, the couple attended few events and took only a handful of posed photos, leaving many to wonder about the details of their time together.
In July 2023, Travis publicly displayed interest in Taylor on his podcast, “New Heights,” which led to their romance. The pair appeared to be stronger than ever as they began the new year together. They exchanged their most intense PDA to date on January 28, following Travis’s selection to Super Bowl LVIII. Taylor placed a celebratory kiss on the Chiefs tight end on the field following his AFC Championship triumph, and some fans believe Taylor told her partner she had “never been more proud of anyone” in a post-game video that emerged on social media.
The pride is mutual. During the February 5 press conference, Travis told reporters that his girlfriend was “unbelievable” after her record-breaking night at the Grammys. “She’s rewriting the history books herself,” he gushed.
