Travis Kelce Reveals Exactly When His and Taylor Swift’s ‘Crazy Ride’ of a Romance First Began

Travis Kelce declares girlfriend Taylor Swift is part of his family

Travis Kelce has revealed when his and Taylor Swift’s love affair began! According to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, the two had been getting to know one other for several weeks before she attended his game versus the Chicago Bears on September 24, 2023.

“We had known each other for close to a month up until that point,” Kelce, 34, said during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday. Three days before Swift attended the Chiefs-Bears game, Kelce said on The Pat McAfee Show that he “threw the ball in her court” and encouraged her to watch him play. On Wednesday, he confessed that when he said it on the show, he already knew she would come see him play.

“It wasn’t just an out-of-the-blue, ‘Hey, come to the game,'” he added. Swift, 34, has been to 12 Kelce games since his debut appearance. “I love it when Taylor comes to support me and watch the game with his family and friends. “It has been nothing but a fantastic year, man,” he told McAfee.

Although the attention his relationship has brought him is “brand new,” he says he’s enjoying it. “You know, it’s been a crazy, crazy ride that I could have never anticipated,” he said. “But I am having fun with it. Aside from the grumpy NFL fans who don’t want the Chiefs to win, the majority of the globe is having a good time.

Rumors of a connection between the two began after the athlete attended the singer’s Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium and attempted to offer her his phone number. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” he remembered to his brother Jason on their New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast in July.

Kelce claimed he was “a little butthurt” that he didn’t get to give her the personalized bracelet since she was so busy preparing for the program.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” his elder brother said. During an interview with the December/January issue of WSJ Magazine, he admitted that he admires her work ethic and that they have something in common.

His own work ethic is why he will not be attending the Grammys on Sunday. He told McAfee. “I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for but I think I got practice on Sunday,” Kelce remarked.

Kelce and the Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Swift is up for six Grammy awards, including album, record, and song of the year.
