Earlier this week, the NFL player was photographed enjoying the offseason while golfing with buddies (including former NBA great Chandler Parsons) and listening to Swift’s 2014 single “Bad Blood” on the course. You know, standard man behavior.
However, as it turns out, this was not the only reference he gave to his pop star girlfriend throughout the excursion. Perhaps less evident was the Easter egg buried on his Sherwood Country Club baseball cap, which was stitched with “1989” on the front. The year, of course, is when Swift was born, and it also serves as the title of her fifth studio album. The hat also depicted an archer launching a bow and arrow, and as any Swift fan knows, she has a song called “The Archer” on her 2019 Lover album.

Unsurprisingly, Kelce’s sartorial tribute did not escape the Swifties, who turned to social media to share their discovery. “His hat says 1989 AND has an archer on it… you can’t make this stuff up!” one fan remarked on X (previously Twitter), while another added, “Hat saying 1989, he’s so Pookie.”
This is not the first time Kelce’s wardrobe has alluded to Swift’s music. Last month, just before the Super Bowl, the tight end arrived at Allegiant Stadium dressed in an all-black Reputation-inspired ensemble that included a sparkly black blazer with a black T-shirt underneath, matching pants, black pointed-toe boots, square-shaped sunglasses, and a chain-link choker necklace similar to the one Swift wore on her 2017 album cover.
